Katie represents companies and individuals in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, including securities litigation, white-collar investigations, and enforcement proceedings.
Kathryn Campbell advises clients in securities class actions, contract disputes, healthcare litigation, internal investigations, business torts, and product liability claims, as well as criminal and civil matters involving accounting fraud, ransomware attacks, False Claims Act violations, and other fraud-related issues.
Katie has helped clients obtain favorable results in cases with hundreds of millions of dollars of exposure through effective discovery strategies and dispositive motions. She has successfully appealed, defended, and argued matters before the Illinois Appellate Court.
Through her extensive pro bono work, Katie secured grants of asylum for an individual who fled to the United States after being incarcerated for sexual orientation, as well as for a mother and daughter who fled to the United States to escape gender-based persecution. She also served as co-first chair of three federal jury trials and successfully settled civil rights claims on behalf of incarcerated individuals.
Katie plays an active leadership role within Ashurst Perkins Coie as a member of the Associate and Counsel Committee, advocating for the professional interests and development of associates and counsel in the Chicago office. She also mentors, manages, and supervises associates firmwide.
Katie previously clerked for the former Chief Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier of the Illinois Supreme Court.
