Katy focuses on commercial litigation, with disputes involving securities laws, regulatory issues, and government investigations.

Katy Pokorny has experience in securities fraud investigations, white-collar matters, and compliance-related counseling and disputes. She advises clients on litigation and enforcement risk, supports internal and government investigations, and helps clients assess compliance issues in evolving regulatory environments.

In her pro bono practice, Katy represents criminal defendants in federal court, including by assisting with case strategy, factual investigation, motion practice, discovery review, and client counseling. Through this work, Katy brings a practical understanding of federal criminal procedure, investigative strategy, and client counseling to her broader regulatory practice.

During law school, Katy externed for the Hon. Ronald F. Bartkowicz of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, where she drafted legal memorandums and court opinions. Additionally, Katy was a summer associate at the firm in 2022.

Before law school, Katy was a project associate at a research center established to support the U.S. Department of Defense and dedicated to advancing trauma-informed knowledge, with a particular focus on the U.S. military population.
