Andy drives innovation by advising on the integration of cutting-edge tools to empower lawyers with additional methods of enhancing the client experience.
Andrew Wang Shawber is Senior Innovation Counsel in the firm's Emerging Companies & Venture Capital practice, where he drives the group's development and strategic integration of generative and agentic AI, legal engineering, forms and checklists, best practices, and process improvement. With deep experience at the intersection of startup and venture capital law and legal technology, he has designed and deployed AI-powered and automated workflows across the full ECVC transaction spectrum—from entity formation and SAFE financings to Series A and beyond—equipping lawyers with practical tools that enhance speed, consistency, and client value without sacrificing lawyer judgment. He developed the group's library of forms and checklists, spearheaded its AI adoption roadmap across multiple phases of tooling and capability, and leads the working group responsible for translating emerging technologies like Harvey, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude into concrete practice workflows. His work reflects a conviction that the lawyers who lead the next decade of venture-backed company formation and financing will be those who combine deep substantive expertise with the discipline to deploy agentic AI with precision and accountability.
Andy has more than a decade of experience representing companies, underwriters, investors, and entrepreneurs in a wide range of industries on corporate and securities matters.
Andy has advised emerging companies and investors on startup and corporate formation matters, executive and equity compensation, and securities compliance. He has also conducted venture capital financings, M&A, and capital markets transactions, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, and uplisting transactions.
